The Secondary Curriculum

We groom our children in a culture of excellence as we educate them to be world class citizens, using an integration of the Nigerian and International curricula referred as the CFAS CURRICULUM, an embodiment of rich and well structured items that will enable our children operate optimally in any academic or social environment.

CFAS has developed a unique curriculum that will prepare each student for a life of service and fulfillment. The curriculum has combined world-class academic core with an innovative curriculum in leadership, ethics and high moral values.

The main subject areas taught are:
i. Core Subjects – English Language, Mathematics, Trade, Computer Studies, Civic Education
ii. Humanities – Yoruba, Literature in English, Geography, Government, CRK, History and        Economics
iii. Sciences – Biology, Chemistry and Physics
iv. Business Studies – Account and Commerce
A.    Learning Support: This always takes place outside the ‘normal class lessons’ to help challenged students achieve optimally. The three domains of academic development, personal/social growth and career development are all embraced, for an accomplished learning skill.
The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is open every day during school hours, at break time, lunchtime and after school so that students may continue with their learning.

B.    Information Technology (IT) Support Services: IT sector drives our unique curriculum making teaching and learning friendly, interactive and activity-based. Our unlimited, but supervised access to intranet, wireless internet and other resources will endear our students to be equipped with information without frontiers and a medium for learners and teachers to dialogue beyond the walls of a single class.

C.    Other School Programmes:
i. Junior Achievement – building entrepreneurial skills.
ii. CFAS Leadership Group – developing leadership skills.

D.    Universities and Careers: Graduates of our schools, because of their in-depth acquisition of knowledge and skills can easily have access to the worlds’ universities after graduation.

E.    Sports: All students are encouraged to participate in an athletics or fitness activity each week. We believe physical fitness and exercises are an important part of maintaining excellent physical and mental health.

F.    Excursions and Field Trips: Our belief in world-class education drives our educational trips arranged for our students to expose them to the world outside the classroom within and outside the country. Parents are advised to allow their children/ward to participate in such activities to broaden their horizon.
